I have a feeling that you won't be the last to make that decision.
There seems to be a lot of discussion about the need for very stable handling of the D800 in order to obtain the hoped-for resolution.

Well, I bought one on Thursday. One of only 5 that came to London Camera Exchange as a whole. Today I get a phone call to say that I got a bargain as Nikon intend to raise the price by £200 and £500 for the D4. Nikon Rumours also has it as well. Off to test it at the races this afternoon.

I ordered one the minute I heard that they were coming...
Checked on Thursday - only to have the dealer tell me that they couldn't say where I was on the list, no information at all - really bad customer service - and Nikon were not providing enough to supply those ordered.
Nikon then say that there is no NPS priority on this camera - despite being a PRO camera
then we hear that there is a £200 price increase
pretty shoddy really
have already sold the D700 to get it - now down a camera and not sure I want to pay the price increase - seems that they are simply taking advantage of the orders and interest...
not happy at all!

Hello all
Just my personal opinion of course :-) Does the D stand for Dinosaur, I'd divide the pixel count by nine, knock a couple of back end digits off the price and sell it through Tesco's.
