Taken last night at Kilmarnock. I've been wanting to do this one for a while, the bridge is lit with blue light under the arches and I'd wanted to capture it for a while, then I thought, maybe some trails would work too.

Thoughts appreciated, good or bad.

Thanks. :-)

Dale

Well spotted. Personally I'd lose the traffic light and the light above it, but others may disagree.

I pondered the light above the traffic light, that almost went. I've titled this 'Green Is For Go', which covers the traffic light, but I may try it without. I've already cloned some signs and another traffic light out, very distracting.

Glad to see you didn't spot my cloning skills. ;-)

A trick I use to check if cloning has worked well is to temporarily whack up the contrast. This emphasises any 'funnies'.

Tried it on your image and I can't see anything dodgy - so anything you've cloned out, I've not been able to spot. Well done. :)

Thanks Mike, I tend to zoom in when cloning, it makes all the difference.

Trust me though, I've only scratched the surface with PS, I'm not even using layers yet.

Hi Dale, like wise on PS, I have put a card across the traffic lights, it look good, but I like it with the traffic lights as it with makes sense due to the red lights of the cars that have gone thought, rounding the image, for me

Thank you Brian.

I can't decide on the traffic light, although the light above it has now been cloned out, and it makes quite a difference. I will post that one when I get around to it. For now, I'm leaning towards keeping the traffic light and titling the image 'Go'. :)

Hi Dale

Well if you're going to give the image a title that relates to the traffic light, you'd best keep it in, hadn't you? :)

On the other hand, without the title, personally I still find it distracting. Partly I suppose because it's so close to the edge of the frame, and a completely different colour.

A (hastily done  ) version for Mike.

I will refine the cloning/cropping if I go for this version. :)

I like the green light, it adds interest and made me ponder a while longer...

Hi Sally

Interesting how opinions vary, and a good thing too! :)

I've had another look at both, and I can see your point. But I still prefer it without the light.

But then I stand waiting ages for people to exit a scene, whereas others perfer to include figures....

Is there a function here to have voting buttons? It would be interesting to see....

Thank you Sally.

If I'm honest, I prefer the image with the light left in, it adds to the story, although cloning it out was certainly worth consideration and doing.

I can see Mike's point though, and from a technical point of view, it is distracting and not placed particularly well, being so close to the edge of the frame.

I have something instore for this image, and I will keep you posted on how that goes. All will be revealed in a few weeks time. :)

Mike - I would vote for voting buttons! It certainly is funny how we all receive and interpret imagery differently :)

Dale - you're welcome. As far as technicality is concerned, I have much to learn  I agree with othes re the street light as I find that distracting, but the green light, for me, seems to be conveying a message (whether intended or not).

Thanks Sally.

Agreed about the street light, that's gone now, and not coming back. :)
