Figure in a 'forest'

1

Over the past few months I have been building a fund of images taken on my walks around the local countryside, with the idea of using them in these montages. To begin with I was blundering about making pics of anything and everything. It wasn't until I began to formulate some ides for individual images that I was able to concentrate on looking for or looking through my existing images for something that would fit.

This is one example the tree was fairly obvious but such was the background that my eye shot off either side of it into what was a lighter area. Bringing the images together I soon realised that they need to be desaturated, blurred and darkened to actually become the background. I was lucky with the lighting it fitted together quite well right from the start.

I decided that the figure should pick up its colour from the surroundings, I did this quite simply in one go but I do see lots and lots of possibilities for this technique.

I'm very pleased with this and will probably list it on eBay.
